Where We Are

Located in the heart of the Finger Lakes, Yates County is situated between Syracuse and Rochester, and easy accessibility to Buffalo, Canada, Pennsylvania, Boston, New York City and other destinations.

Major highways to provide a centralized base of operations for your company with a thirty mile access to the New York State Thruway, Route 17 and US Route 390.

Other modes of transportation include air and rail with accessibility via the Penn Yan Airport and the Finger Lakes Railway. Other major airports include the Rochester International Airport and the Syracuse Hancock International Airport.

Who We Are Yates - County Industrial Development Agency

Steve Griffin, CEO

As the Chief Executive Officer, Steve is responsible for the overall operations of the Yates County IDA. Steve has over 12 years of business experience across multiple industries including 5 years as Executive Vice President of Business Development for the Genesee County Economic Development Center (GCEDC). During that time, Steve assisted 150 businesses expand or locate in Genesee County and invest over $250 million. Prior to the GCEDC, Steve lived in the Washington D.C. area working in the technology sector leading the sales and marketing divisions of several successful start-up internet service and network security providers though their initial public offerings and acquisition from larger providers including MCI and Symantec Corporation. Steve serves as the President of the Rochester Finger Lakes Regional Development Corporation, is an executive committee member of the Genesee Finger Lakes Regional Planning Council as well as numerous other regional and local development committees. Steve received his MBA from the University at Buffalo and a Bachelor of Science degree from Niagara University.

Doreen Jensen
Administrative Assistant
Doreen has served as the Yates County IDA Administrative Assistant since 1993. Prior to that, she worked for the Yates County Economic Development & Planning Office. Doreen is responsible for all financial records for the agency and is involved in the day to day management of the Keuka Business Park.
